Apple Mac Mini 2010 review
Apple has today released an anticipated update to the Mac Mini, which starts at $699 and is more tailored for home theater uses than the previous generation model by including an HDMI port. Apple has redesigned the enclosure, as well as added ports that are better suited for connecting to televisions. The computer is designed based off Apple’s aluminum enclosure which, similar to the MacBook and MacBook Pro family, has a unibody design. There is a single slot-loading optical drive on the front of the system, and Apple has reconfigured the back to include a HDMI port and an SD card slot. The $699 model sports the following features: Core system: 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor with 3MB of shared L2 cache 2GB of 1066 MHz DDR3 SDRAM Storage: 320GB Serial ATA hard drive running at 5400 rpm Slot-load 8X SuperDrive (DVD?R DL/DVD?RW/CD-RW) SD card slot Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 320M integrated graphics with shared memory one HDMI port and one Mini DisplayPort HDMI to DVI video adapter Networking and connectivity: AirPort Extreme 802.11n wireless networking and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR Gigabit Ethernet four USB 2.0 ports one FireWire 800 port Audio: combined optical digital audio input combined optical digital audio output The Mac Mini Server with no optical drive. Customizing options allow for up to 8GM of RAM and 500GB (7200RPM) of hard drive storage space.
